Rather than handcuffs, the hands in this drawing are shackled by the plastic tops to six-packs of soda or beer. These sinister devices are responsible for the deaths of thousands of birds and sea creatures each year. The piece also symbolizes our dependency on plastics as well as our inability to manage the amount of trash we create. We are plastic prisoners.
